About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

This is not my first Swiss knife. The Champion is a bit too large for regular carry purposes and is not comfortable in a pocket; however, on the belt in a fitted Kydex sheath it is perfect and has any and all accessories anyone could needs from emergency to survival training. Whether it is picking your teeth or starting a fire it has it all. The quality remains unsurpassed and I am known to everyone as Mr Knife-guy.

I have purchase this item for its futures and price. I couldn't be happier about the versatility of the item. Being able to have a tool with all the futures this knife has, it is very convenient. You can carry it with you anywhere but it is better to store it in a pouch. I have had another swiss army knife before but it was taken away at the airport leaving on a trip. It was inside the carry-all in the plane. Next time I know, I have to store the Item in the luggage that I check-in.
